THOMPSON (nee BROWN), Carol Elizabeth “Betty” On February 17, 2010, Carol Elizabeth “Betty” Thompson (nee Brown) departed this life at 80 years of age. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Edward Thompson, III; five children, William E. Thompson IV, J.Scott Thompson, Diane T. Knipp, Robert C. Thompson, Hilary T. Harrington; 16 grandchildren (pre-deceased by granddaughter Rachel Lee), one great-grandson, and a brother, Hadley “Butch” Fairfield Brown of Winterville, Ga. She was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church participating in the Altar Guild and several Bible study groups. As a member of the Baltimore Country Club, she was an enthusiastic bridge player and until recently, a member of the “9-hole Women’s Group” for more than 20 years. Born and raised in Baltimore, Betty graduated from Girls Latin. After raising her family, she finished her final two years of college at the College of Notre Dame graduating “Magna Cum Laude.” Betty will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Arrangements

A memorial service at Ascension Lutheran Church will be held February 24th at 11:00 AM.
